interior inspiration : scandinavian homes.















I truly believe that there are few things better than a well-designed Scandinavian home (and let me tell you, there are a whole lot of them.) Somehow in that part of the world, good design instincts must just run in the blood. Really, they know what they're doing.

    What IS it with scandinavian homes? they manage to be perfectly livable yet perfectly stylish at the same time---and the use of color/light is always spot on.

    I hereby suggest we all move to Denmark...

    I love that they are unafraid of color and texture and great patterns. So inspiring. Maybe because it's so gosh darn cold there!

    When you live most of the year in the dark, you learn to appreciate and love the light. Our winters in Wisconsin can be awfully long, dark and dreary. Scandinavian design is perfect for northern climates.

    they need to have beautiful homes to live in considering how harsh the weather is there most of the year. gloomy weather can be a drag. you just feel better when you're in a beautiful space.
