This has been a season of fairytale-esque folky braids and I have been completely loving it. They are just so romantic and feminine- I could happily wear a different one every day.
Oeh - I LOVE braids too! Just yesterday I had a post about braids, I think you would like it: http://ulicam.blogspot.com/2009/08/look-its-me-with-braid.html
But also in these: http://ulicam.blogspot.com/2009/03/flator-vantar-pa-var.html http://ulicam.blogspot.com/2009/03/vad-ar-det-med-uli-och-skogen.html
This is so fantastic! Did you ever notice how great the braids are at Free People? They even made a page of some fairly simple how-to's... http://blog.freepeople.com/2008/08/learn_to_braid_with_fp_1.html
i LOVE this blog, and this is a great post - however, i'm saddened by the lack of diversity in the photos. women of so many different cultures wear braids. and i'm sure your readership is much more diverse than the images you're posting. i have a giant afro and i love to wear braids:)
The one on the red background is really original. My hair is still too short, and when i try to make a little braid it doesn't look this fairytale-like :)
This is my most favorite braid photo, my dear friend Ann Britt takes the loveliest pictures http://www.ann-britt.com/photo__portrait?p=1. Thanks for posting, I love the shots you chose!
the second image is my fav - I wish I had the patience to try more hairstyles...
