thought of the day : never been happier.

"I have no direction," from the wonderfully creative wordboner (I think I could spend hours on there.)
mouth-watering treats.
This has little to do with design (other than the fact that the desserts are mighty nice to look at), but I must say that I am so very obsessed with all that is Nigella Lawson at the moment. She's an amazing writer, very sexy (and looks like she actually eats her food), and goodness, her recipes are absolutely heavenly. I guess, after having a slice of homemade apple pie for breakfast, I just have food on the brain today.

Recipes for the food shown above: Honey Chocolate Cake, Blackberry Galette, Autumnal Birthday Cake, and Banana Bread.

ten images of inspiration : calming whites.

It is just one of those days, a day that I am enjoying staring at white-themed images that have a certain ability to calm me. I know I have done this theme before with interiors, but now it's time for some pretty white styling/photography.

apparel collection : ultra-cute children's clothing.

While browsing through adorable little girl's dresses at Grasshopper yesterday, I realized that I really don't post enough children's clothing collections here, which is funny since I have two kids of my own and am constantly checking out well-designed, cute kid's apparel. True, it's rare that I purchase any (my boys are usually clad in thrift store finds and hand-me-downs), but I still truly love the large amount of really good looking options for children out there these days.

the work of manon gignoux.

I keep finding all these websites hidden deep within my bookmarks that I have never shared. One of these is the site of Paris artist/stylist Manon Gignoux, a woman who creates completely unique pieces out of old fabrics and raw materials. The results are absolutely breathtaking and unlike anything I have ever seen before. Check out her portfolio/biography here- there is so much to love.
collections : the great outdoors.
Even though it is still raining quite a bit off and on here, the real warm weather is starting to feel so close. We're reaching the time of year when I spend almost as much time outside as inside. Needless to say, I'm excited about that. I'm ready for picnics and gardening and outdoor gatherings.

susie cowie embroidery.

I cannot remember where I first came across it, but I am completely blown away by the work of London embroidery artist Susie Cowie. Everything she creates seems so delicate and unique, like something out of an old storybook.
thought of the day : i drew this for you.

"Everything's okay," from Natalie Perkins's drawing set.
interior inspiration : light and sky blues.

Perhaps it's the fact that I am truly enjoying the random days of blue skies, but I am so in love with pretty bright, yet soft blues lately, especially when it comes to painted walls and furniture.
