Today's illustrator spotlight:
Fawn Gehweiler. I was first introduced to her and her work many years ago when I was invited to a dinner with her at the famous
Canter's Deli. I fell immediately in love with her frequent use of bubblegum pink, girls with huge eyes, and reminiscence of 1960's artwork. Since then, I have seen her work all over the place- in magazines, in stores, on clothing, and in a massive amount of art galleries all over the place. Her clients have included Hello Kitty, VH1, YM, Bust Magazine, Yum Pop, and so many more.
Her artwork was described by
Face Magazine as "the visual equivalent of candyfloss peppered with broken glass, delicious yet dangerous". Perfection.
