sugarbaby's cupcake boutique.

Anyone who knows me at all knows that I am a very deep lover of cupcakes. I spend my days making them, dreaming of the day I can open my bakery here in Portland. So, needless to say, I was in awe of this beautifully-designed little cupcake shop in Houston called Sugar Baby's. It looks absolutely gorgeous and sweet from head to toe with its bright pink walls, checkered flooring, and victorian detailing. I think if I lived nearby it I wouldn't be able to fit in my pants anymore!

(Special thanks to Kristen for the photographs!)

This jewelry by Ananda Khalsa is so gorgeous and inspiring. If you check out her site, you can see how each piece is meant to symbolize something through the images of plants and animals. Such a lovely idea.

no. eight : blackboard cupboard.

I would truly love to own this vintage blackboard cabinet from the UK shop No. Eight. It seems so convenient for any room in the house.

I am really adoring the ceramics shown at Morlen Sinoway. So simple and modern and just plain pretty!

susie ghahremani.

Today's illustrator spotlight: Miss Susie Ghahremani. I do not know why it has taken me so long to get to her, since she by far one of my favorite illustrators. Not only is she a fabulous musician, but she is also such an incredible artist. To me, nothing beats colorful images of owls, typewriters, birds, and bicycles. Susie has shown her art all over the place and her products can be found in many boutiques.

Check out her personal blog here!

star.

Today's illustrator spotlight: Star of thisisstar.com. She wears a whole lot of red, plays cello, and is extremely talented at a number of trades, like illustration, animation, photography, and graphic design. Her clients have included Marvel Comics and $pread Magazine, and has even modeled for the oh-so-famous David LaChapelle. I adore her use of bold colors and just how beautiful she draws women.

Prints of her work can be purchased here. I also recommend browsing through her fabulous blog.

bored inc. : new shop!

The mother and daughter design team of Bored Inc. now have a new webshop. I highly recommend checking it out: adorable bags and fab wall decals!

the black apple : decor.

I always love looking at other people's design choices, especially what they choose to hang on their walls at home and how they choose to display artwork, so I was happy to see Emily of The Black Apple post pictures of her walls at home on her blog. I adore the art she chose along with the frames and wall color. Beautiful!
