interior inspiration : living with kids.
Having two kids of my own, I know that living with them can be extremely difficult. They are messy, chaotic, and their stuff is everywhere. So I always love looking into the homes of families that manage to keep their places looking stylish, organized, and still family-friendly (anyone else weirded out by the ones that look like there are no signs of their children at all?).

Yebb, I always think it looks weird when kids don't seem to have left their mark on the place. Great and inspiring images btw. I love the stair and the little globes.
ReplyDeleteOh they have a globe collection too - but mine's bigger, think I might have to send you a picture!
ReplyDeleteI really love the way the image has the children's artwork displayed. It's stylish and sophisticated. Great find!
ReplyDeleteI think they put their kids in the cupboard along with the primary coloured plastic that comes with them, that is never in these beautiful shots! I keep trying to put my kids in there too, but they are having none of it!
ReplyDeleteThe kids art is gorgeous, and every child needs a black board wall, as I found out this summer when my oldest (3) and his friend decided to draw over most of my upstairs walls with felt pen... and then when I had repainted these walls a few weeks later...decided to repaint with my nail varnish. I do not have a cupboard big enough for them.
The first image is my favorite, I just love mid-century modern design. And the vintage car is so cool, any kid would want that. I think the best thing about these pics is the absence of vast amounts of cheap, plastic toys. I hope I can avoid this pitfall when I have kids!
ReplyDeleteWhat great images!!! I love how children make spaces fun and even stylish!! xx
ReplyDeleteWhen i see these kinds of images and think about how messy my house is, I always die inside a bit. But then I remember that they probably hide most of their stuff before they get the photos taken. At least that's what I tell myself. :)
ReplyDeletei couldn't agree with you more on your last statement. it's like some are trying to hide the kids. i don't get it. especially this time of years with all the fru fru christmas decor...but there are very few images out there that have kid friendly homes.
ReplyDeletedidn't mean to write a book. love this house. art work, and i like the little nook or corner where they hang the coats. cute cute.
Gorgeous. I have no kids yet, but I like to be prepared. Great roundup.
ReplyDeleteI abosolutely love your blog! I could be here for hours! :)

ReplyDeleteIn my bakery cafe, I have many drawings that kids gave me. I love those artful images.
ReplyDeleteSo, I really like the idea of the third photo, to hang crafts on Ikea racks...
awe. i want a little one.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I have never found a blogger who has such great design pics....so many. Every post leads me to an equally tantalizing post for interior design.
ReplyDeleteThe chalkboard will be a must. Maybe I can score one from the school district.
